World Cup updates from Orange 247, anyone else getting them?

The last couple of days i've been getting World Cup updates from the
number "247", it doesn't say it's from orange but doing a quick bit of
searching the number 247 comes up as one Orange uses for it's text
information services.

After 2 of these messages I just did a STOP ALL to the number and gave
Orange a ring to see why i've been getting them. She said the only way
I'd get them is for me to request them, I sure as hell didnt and I
asked to speak to someone about it. She didn't really want to help and
could only suggest someone did it from my phone whilst I wasn't
looking. Impossible as I have a pin code keypad lock.

She did't want to put me through to anyone else and could only suggest
I wrote a letter to some Customer Services dept in Bristol.

Has anyone else got these World Cup updates without asking for them?

Error by the service provider or your mobile number was recycled.

I've had the same number for 6 years, I'm very careful who I give it to
and I've never opted in to any text alert services. I was just annoyed
with the attitude of the woman at Orange, she just didn't want to help
at all and suggested that I had subscribed to it even when I said I
hadn't.

I have been getting them to.

I'll call Orange to dispute this when i get my bill.

If you switched England Scores on during Euro 2004 then you'll get them.

I don't follow football and as I said I don't sign up for text alerts!

I'll give them a call if they appear on my bill!
