Similarly the one on the nytimes site is easy to hear for old duffers:

    http://www.compoundsecurity.co.uk/

Red box in the middle of the website, near the bottom. Though I just made my
own using adobe audition. 16KHz mudulating by 100Hz with a modulation
frequency of 0.5Hz. I can just about hear it. Got to try it on some
    teenagers now.

Don't MP3s compress audio by "losing" parts of the audio people aren't
expected to hear? Would an MP3 of the mosquito's sound make it less useful?

Of the three that have been posted, I can hear:

    1) Not at all
    2) REALLY loud
    3) Can JUST hear it - reckon it must be my limit

Have just sent the links to GF and she can hear 1 and 3 but not 2 at all.

    Most odd!

Well I'm 42 in November and I can hear number 2 and number 3
through my pc speakers. Number 3 is particularly annoying.
