Hi All,
Can anyone recommend where I can get my K750i repaired? It got very wet on
the flume at alton towers, and as such now comes on, minus backlight, saying
insert sim card. Tried 2 sim cards, and they are okay in other phones.
Infact, im not too bothered about it actually working, as I'm due an
upgrade..I just really want the phonebook and if possible sounds, pictures
that are not on memory stick off it etc.
Thanks very much

There's a place near where I live, in "Inchinnan" - called TRS - Total
Repair Solutions.
It would be worth your while printing out an attempt at a 'recent' receipt
for the phone, nudge nudge, wink wink, and see if they'll fix it for you. Of
course, as you said, it's water damage - so unless it's been on a radiator
with the battery out for a good week then I would probably consider it a
lost cause.

Have you tried connecting it to the computer using a data cable, as it
sounds as if it's powering up ok, so if you can get it connected you can
probably still get the info you need from it like that

It's bin material mate. Had you removed the battery immediately and
dried it for at least a week it may have survived.

I know it was an attempt at a helpful suggestions, I'm not criticising by
saying this - the above can't be done on the k750i due to the fact you have
to enter your pin and the phone must quickly switch from the standby screen
to USB-connection mode... Even with the power off and USB inserted this
still remains.
I imagine it's to ensure that if you've got PIN protection enabled people
can't just plug your phone into a PC, wipe the details on it, and upgrade
the firmware to bypass the PIN lock.

I realise the last part of that sentence sounds daft, meant to say 'phone
lock'. If you insert a different SIM card, by default it will ask you for
the phone lock code - which hopefully the owner has changed.

Only if the lock code functionality has been switched on, it is off by
default.
