I have an O2 sim which when i swith my phone on says SIM REJECTED. I rang
up O2 PAYG who said it is the sim it has gone faulty and they will send me a
replacement. However I have some EXTREMELY important phone numbers saved on
the old sim that I need. Is there any way of recovering the numbers?

    No.

SIM rejected means you've put the PIN in wrong 3 times and then the PUK
    wrong 10 times.

Would one of those Sim Card backup devices work (Argos do one: 546/3934 for
    a tenner). Worth a try?
For what its worth, I used to have a 6230 that about 1 time in 30, when
switched on would say Sim Card rejected after accepting a pin first time.
That was on Vodafone, but turning it off and on again got it accepted. I
think the sims can go bad.

    No there isn't.

I'm assuming you've tried the SIM in another phone? If it is faulty then
it may behave differently in another device.

Yep, easy. Restore from backup. If you have no backup then they probably
    weren't important. :-D
