    Hi,

I've recently been given a Z140v on vodafone payt.

I don't seem to be able to work out how the alarm clock on it works
though, I just wondered if there was anyone else out there who had
one could tell me how to operate it?

I've tried the samsung website and downloaded the manual but short
of reading every page there doesn't seem to be a specific option in
    the index for the alarm.

    Any help please?

    Cheers.

I don't have this particular model but what troubles you with the alarm?
You should have something called Alarm in the phone's menu and from there,
    everything is pretty straightforward.

Nothing other than the fact I can't find it!! Where abouts in the menu
    is it?

Aha! Found it, thanks very much, it was very well hidden though, who'd
have thought you had to press left whilst within the menu! I thought
for a moment I was going to have to revert back to the trusty nokia
    6100!

Don't worry, you will eventually have to revert back to your Nokia. Using a
Samsung after a Nokia is like having to drive a Traban after having spent
your life driving BMWs. This small anecdote with the alarm was just the
start of an endless list of unbelievably badly designed features.

I think I can live with that, the 6100 doesn't have bluetooth and I need
it cos the new car comes with built in bluetooth gadgetry which I'm yet
    to work out!

A friend of mine has a 140V and she went to it from a Nokia, loves it and
I was quite impressed by it.

There has to be some people who are happy with their Samsung mobiles or
Samsung wouldn't be the second largest mobile phone manufacturer in the
world. However my recent experiences with both low end and high end Samsung
mobiles has been horrific. And last Christmas, my parents got one of my
sister a Samsung mobile and the other a Samsung stereo. My sister's mobile
allowed me to see that almost nothing had changed in the Samsung's world
since my experience with them when it comes to mobiles and that Samsung
even manages to screw up with something as basic as a CD/Radio/MP3 stereo.

From what i've been able to see, people who only use their mobiles to make
phone calls are perfectly happy with their Samsung. And if they have a
mid-range or high end Samsung, they can even send SMS reasonably easily
(even though this really depends on the model). For anything else, stay
    away from these phones.
