Having a couple of problems using data with my Moto L7, which Voda have not
    yet been able to resolve.

Firstly, attempting to connect to email servers brings up a cannot connect
message even though the GPRS icon is showing. Always says "0 bytes
transferred" so is not even getting connected to the GPRS server. Mail
server settings would bring up an authentication or page not found error if
    they were incorrect.

Secondly, trying to use the BBC Mobizines gets the same cannot connect to
the internet error even though again the GPRS connected icon is on, and the
..jar software downloaded fine. Should work on the L7 according to
Mobizines even though it isn't officially supported, and the V3 is
supported and that is very similar firmware.

Finally (which I am less bothered about) the Voda Live homepage brings up
three text links (Home, My page, and something else) which don't actually
go anywhere. Clearing the cache etc doesn't make any difference.
Everything else non-Voda works as it should.

Any suggestions how I may resolve these errors? I suspect the problem lies
in the internet connection (ISP) settings, and I have configured these
according to the info on various websites:
    Connection type: GPRS
    APN address: internet
    User name: web
    Password: web
    DNS IP: 212.183.137.12

I have received settings from Voda via SMS,and GPRS on Web browsing and MMS
works fine, and I have also confirmed that data is active on my account.

If anyone has one of these phones and has got the t'interweb working, I'd
be grateful to see the settings.

    TIA.

    Re: Data glitches GRPS/Voda/L7

    Hi News24,

I work for Vodafone and can offer you some informal help. The Motorola
L7 isn't listed on our device range so I can't locate a full list of
    manual settings instructions.

What I have got is the Vodafone generic internet settings, if you
wanted to go through your phone menus and check that everything is in
    place.

APN (Access Point Name): Contract (Postpay) Customers:
    wap.vodafone.co.uk
    PayT (Prepay) Customers: pp.vodafone.co.uk
    Username: wap
    Password: wap
Proxy / IP Address: HTTP Enabled / 212.183.137.012
    CSD Dial up No. +447836900808
    Bearer: GPRS preferred or GPRS
Data call/Service type: For CSD: ISDN For GPRS: HTTP
    Security: Non Secure
    Speed: 9600
Athentication: HTTP-basic For 3G devices: PAP
    Port: 9201 For WAP 2.0 devices: 8799
    Login in type: Automatic
Homepage: Browsing (GPRS/ Internet): http://live.vodafone.com or other
    chosen homepage
    MMS: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms
    Sending Port: 25
    Receiving Port: 110
    Linger/Timeout: 300

Vodafone Mail Email and Internet Account (e.g. this is only for
Vodafone Mail POP3 and SMTP, not third party emails)

APN (Access Point Name): Contract (Postpay) Customers: internet
    PayT (Prepay) Customers: pp.vodafone.co.uk
    Username: web
    Password: web
    Outgoing/Sending server: Preferred: smtp.vodafone.net (or
    send.vodafone.net)
Incoming/ Receiving server: Preferred: imap.vodafone.net or
    pop.vodafone.net
    Protocol: Preferred: imap4 or pop3
Receiving Port: 143 (imap accounts) or 110 (pop accounts)
    Homepage: Leave blank
    CSD Dial up No. +447836900808
    CSD User Name [email protected]
    CSD Password vodafone

If you still have problems you could go to www.vodafone.co.uk and then
select 'contact us' then the email option. If you write the code FIT135
in the email body then your query will automatically be routed to a
department who would be able to help you.

    Hope this helps
