    Hi,

I want to have a Voda K800i unlocked. Unfortunately Vodafone don't seem to
have anything on their databases, so told me to call SE, who say they can't
    do it either.

Is there any specific department to call at Voda to get this done? I need an
    NCK code, whatever that means...

Oh dear, the halfwit you spoke to is obviously new or something, just
call them back and tell them you need a network unlock code, they'll do
a search again, tell you it's not available, then tell them to request
it, just underneath the search system they use there is a link that says
    Non-VLTS users request a NUC.

They'll then email SE for you and should send it out within 10 days,
however, there are problems at the moment with NUC's but I think it's
    only the Nokias it's affected.

    Hi,

As Charlie says, Vodafone have a team who deal exclusively with Network
Unlock Code (NUC) requests. You can also request your NUC code by email
by going to www.vodafone.co.uk, select 'contact us' then the email
option. If you provide the following details a member of our email team
will then be able to forward your request to the Network Resolutions
    department:

    Account / Mobile number
    - Address including post code
    - IMEI number (to find this enter * # 0 6 # into the mobile and press
    send)
    - Make and model of handset that you're using

There's a charge of £19.99 for a mobile under twelve months old.
Anything over 12 months and the code is free of charge.

As mentioned, there can be a delay when Vodafone contact Sony Ericsson
on your behalf, however if you're dealing with your request by email
you'll at least be able to keep in touch with Vodafone throughout and
make sure your request goes as smooth as possible.

If you have any other questions please let me know.

(just a quick mention to Charlie's final point, there is an issue with
Nokia unlock codes at the moment which we're looking into, but you
shouldn't have any problems at all with Sony Ericsson)

Thanks guys, did just that, and am now waiting for the code. Just out of
interest, I'm pretty sure I was quoted 25 quid... Any particular reason for
    that?
