    Hi,

I got a mobile (Nokia N70) about 6 months ago. It has died. It isn't
insured - stupid I know. I'm on Orange. Will Nokia or Orange be able to
replace it or am I screwed? Any decent help or advice very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

Take it back to where you bought it, with the receipt of course.

Did it die spontaneously or has it suffered any abuse?

    I took out a contract with Orange. I don't have a receipt. I'd imagine
having the contract is proof of purchase.

Spontaneously. When it is powered on the screen lights up but nothing
happens. Screen just stays on (blank - grey colour).

Yup, they'll replace it as long as there's no obvious physical damage.

Thanks. I'll try taking it back to an Orange shop.

Orange will not replace it, however Nokia will (attempt to) repair it.

Do you know why it has died? If not then get it to a repair centre for
    some attention.

You will always get a receipt of some kind. If you buy from Orange
directly the invoice follows the delivery of the phone.

If you bought it from a shop you will have a receipt, even if it is for
    £0.00

I think you mean "repair" instead of "replace"?

You could try a hard reset. Details on www.filesaveas.com I think. Might
    save you a trip.

I said I don't have one a receipt not that I didn't get one. You are correct
I did have an invoice but I doubt I kept it. My point was I doubt they will
deny I bought the phone from them.
