    Why oh why do none of them allow GSM WAP? Even the nokia service centre
    thought they did but after I showed them they were stumped.

    Tools>Settings>Connection>Access Points>OPTIONS>New Access Point>Data
    Bearer>Packet Data Only!????

    Nokia 6680
    N70

    I would assume its the same on all the smart phones?

    Never realised that before on my N70! My ancient Nokia 7650 allowed it, so
    not true for all smart phones. I used to use it so I could use the net
    (albeit slowly) from my inclusive minutes.

    note why I said 'new series' of symbian phones :-P

    6680 and n70 arnt exactly new.
