I am interested in one of the two phones above as my next phones but want to
know more about the method used with the computer for syncing the outlook
    calendar.

I currently have a Microsoft Smartphone and I am impressed with the way
Active sync allows you to simply plug the device in and it just syncs
without having to press or activate anything.

Could anyone else help me if the two phone above work in the same way or is
it more complicated or a hassle to do each time.

Also will the two phone allow you to display latest calendar items on the
home screen or do you have to access this through the calendar option

All new Nokia smart phones from 6680 that I know of display latest calender
items on the home screen when you activate 'Active standby'.

Active sync works in the same way after you have set the options first time
round, you select what you want to sync how often and in which direction.

No idea about the SE, but SE don't multi-task like the Nokia's.
