I'd agree. I've seen the results of video, shot on the K800i and then
viewed on a computer. A very noticably soft video display.

I am assuming that it would be possible to get good quality video if
the software permitted it. To fit a more video on the card they've
reduced the quality. It would have been far better if they gave the
choice to set the video to high quality even though recording time
    would be correspondingly reduced.

I am not sure it could ever capture video beyond 176x144 pixels,
although the frame rate for that resolution could possibly be improved
(as seen with the K750/W800) but not by enough that I'd consider using
    it for my holiday video!

The W900 has a graphics co-processor and managed QVGA video that was
quite decent (record and playback). The K800, for some reason, doesn't
have this which seems like a backward step (but the K800 also lacks
Shockwave Flash themes, some of the new Sony Ericsson icons etc so it
must have been in development for a LONG time).

The camera sensor is top quality (on our camera test, it outperforms
every other 3-3.2 megapixel camera, including Nokia's N73 and N93) but
for video, well, the less said the better. The phone is clearly not
able to process video at high resolution, even though I bet the sensor
    could easily provide it.

When Sony Ericsson releases their next Cyber-shot phone, hopefully with
Minolta's optical zoom technology, I hope they also boost the video to
a MINIMUM of 320x240 and ideally VGA (640x480) at a decent frame rate.
