Vodafone have a mostly-free web-based email service whereby you can
open an email account (like Hotmail) at www.vodafone.net if you have a
Vodafone mobile phone. This has some useful features like sending an
alert based on key-words in the subject, voice and fax mail.
Has anyone else encountered problems of emails being sent to the user's
account being rejected? The rejection given refers to a website
http://www.vodafone.net/error.htm but entering the ISP of the outgoing
pop-3 did not show that it was blocked. I have complained to Vodafone
about this problem but it would help to know if anyone else has
encountered it in recent months.

Re: vodafone email rejections
Hi Nigel,
Sorry for the late reply. Working for Vodafone we've had no widespread
faults such as the one you describe. There's only one known issue with
..net accounts at present - this being the following error message when
attempting to log in, although attemping to mirror this fault on my own
account this afternoon there are no problems -
*'21409 - The message you are trying to open no longer exists on
server'
*login to the following account has failed - esu1.vodafone.net'
A first solution I'd look into would be to go into the .net account,
select settings then check the 'email filtering' field is clear.
If you still have problems then Vodafone do have a specific technical
department who deal with Vodafone Mail resolutions. If you go to
www.vodafone.co.uk, select 'contact us', then email, including the
short code FIT135 this will pass your details on to somebody in our
email team who'll be able to help.
