I am going to give my 02 SIM card to my cousin (I'm going to Australia
for 11 months)
Can I simply transfer the direct debit details and change the name on
the account (by loggin in on www.02.co.uk - you can change the name &
address)
Legally, what's the score? Is it now 'his' SIM card?
(I won't be charging him any money, but I am curious to know:-
hypothetically, is this possible?)
The reason is I pay £10 monthly: get 50 free mins/day, unlimited
texts (so it's quite cheap)

You would need to speak with to see if they would allow a change of contract
in this manner, simply changing the DB details would not change who
initiated the contract

I asked O2 customer service the question some months ago. I wanted to
transfer an old online contract that is in name to my son. It was
originally taken out when he was under 18 but now I would like him to be
responsible for it (and the bills!). I was told that a transfer of the
contract was not possible. Just changing the direct debit details would
still leave me legally responsible.
