Ordered my (free) O2 sim a bit over 4 weeks ago now, still no sign of
it. Since I only need a PAYG sim to port my number out to from Orange,
any suggestions of the cheapest and easiest way to do this?
I'm reluctant to waste any more time with those numpties at O2, and
would quite like to sort this out some time this month....
Thanks
Nick

It has never been obvious how to port a number onto a free O2 SIM.

Hi,
Check http://www.mobile-page.co.uk/ for your options. In your case I
would type PAYG onto search box to get your best payg options. Hope
this helps....pappa

O2 online PAYT Sims not good for porting,
first you have to put a Tenner on to activate,
and O2 online CS charge an arm and a leg to call them
Virgin are ideal, but seems none free at moment
go for a Voda, two for free at mo

Thanks for this Steve. I'd got the impression that Vodafone aren't
great for porting numbers in and then fairly promptly out again,
though. Is that the case?

Quite likely, Virgin are particularly flexable about porting,
Strange as it's in no networks benefit to make porting out easy
