Hi
I can't send or receive texts suddenly on Voda contract. I rang 191 and they
said the SMC in southampton has failed and many customers are affected.
The phone still makes / receives calls, and I've tried the sim in a different
handset too, but it just won't send a text, i get "message sending failed" to a
range of numbers.
Being a bit suspicious, after it took them a month to get texting working for
me last time it 'failed' can anyone confirm the network problem actually
exisits, and it isn't just me this time?

I seem to be receiving okay after I sent a text message from my
T-Mobile MDA Vario II to my Contract Vodafone Nokia N80, but the
message I sent from the N80 to the Vario II a few minutes ago hasn't
arrived yet.

There was a widespread UK fault with Vodafone SMS which occurred on
Friday has since been resolved.
Are you still having problems? (e.g. you could attempt to send a test
SMS to yourself on 9770).

I had problems yesterday (Monday) texting to another vodafone number.
I was getting a 'message sending failed', err message, which just kept
appearing. I eventually tried to call the other number, but got an
'error in connection' message repeatedly!!! Don't know if this is
related, but I eventually resolved it by power-cycling and it sorted
itself after that.
