Have a Samsung D500 on voda which until this weekend has been okay but now
it won't receive any sms messages that have been sent from just one phone
(on O2) despite receiving from all others and despite the sender managing to
send to other people. Also I can send to the other party. Any idea what is
    going wrong?
    Thanks

    Re: weird sms problem

    Hi,

I work for Vodafone and as of this morning I'm not currently aware of
any reported SMS issues between O2 and Vodafone. I'd recommend dropping
customer services an email (www.vodafone.co.uk, 'contact us' then
'email', + if you leave the shortcode FIT135 in your email this will
route through to somebody who will be able to help). If you include a
synopsis of your problem, along with the following information,
Vodafone's technical team will be able to investigate further:

    · Make and model of mobile
    · Post code area of where the fault is occurring
    · Any error messages on the mobile(s) involved
    · If there are any problems making voice calls
    · (if one specific network) which network is failing to send the text
    message
    · That the SMS message centre number is correct on the Vodafone
handset - this would need to be 447785016005
    · The text message format is set to 'text' - this can be
located through the SMS settings in the phone settings
    · Attempt to send a text message to 9770 (this sends a free test
    message to your own number)
    · Time and date the problem started
    · Is the problem permanent or intermittent

I know exactly what that is! I know someone who had the same problem as you.
You have (somehow) blocked that user. If they send you a message, it will
say 'sent' and 'delivered' on their phone, but you will have no indication
that you received it. Your phone receives it, and automatically deletes it.

I don't know Samsungs myself, but you need to go though the phones menus, to
unblock the user. I think it *might* be in the phone book menu.

Matthew, Thanks, you were right and I found a Block Messages menu I never
knew existed. No idea how a number got into this menu expect I put Samsung's
Desktop PIM manager on this week and did some editing so may have been due
    to that.
    Thanks again

Yes, I remember something like that. You have put the number in the
    "forbidden" list or similar.

What a good idea - I need a Samsung to get rid of those nuisance texters
    from the past!

Do the new models have this feature too?
