Hi,
I currently have a contract with O2 with 100 mins and 100 texts. I'm
well inside with the mins, but way over on texts, I use something like
500 a month, so my bill is about £75 a month.
I'm at 12 months with my current contract and I want to sort it all out
and get something thats costs a more sensible amount.
At first pass O2 have offered 750 mins and 750 texts for £35 a month,
but thats an 18 month contract, and I'd much rather have 12.
I've had a look at a few websites, One stop phone shop, car phone
warehouse etc, and nothing seems to match that, which is a bit of surprise.
Can anyone point to a 12 month contract, with about 100 mins and 500
texts? I don't mind what network (although Orange is a bit dodgy around
here).

Have you looked at three.co.uk?

Why not PAYG? It'd likely be much cheaper than £35 a month if you buy "packs", and
then you're not tied into a contract at all. Or did you want a new phone included?

I'm on a 3 VT&T 1100 contract with 400text a month
doubled for the first 3 months
On a 100%cashback deal, with phone chucked in
Check out http://www.reestitmutton.co.uk/
for latest deals
Very pleased now with 3, most of their problems have been sorted out

Virgin, bought from them on virginmobile.com or by phone, £20 for 200 mins
and 500 texts (or 300 mins and 300 texts) - no contract, that is pay monthly
SIM only. Add £5 a month for a 12 month contract and 'free' phone. £32
gets 500 mins and 1000 texts. Extra texts are 3p if it's to another Virgin
phone.
I phoned them and got the 300 mins / 300 texts for £15, discounted from the
£20 online after complaining I can't get NTL cable (because if you do, the
same is £10).

out of complete curiosity - why so many texts ?
is it difficult to ring in your job ?

Thanks for all the pointers everyone.
It is rather a lot of texts, something like 15 a day.
It comes from having a girlfriend who likes to text me and expects a
reply. The sort of mundane stuff it covers (leaving work, eating tea,
watching tv etc) does not really need a phone call.
Drives me mad sometimes, but there you go. There are worse things that
could happen.
