Before I do something rash, does anyone know if there's any reason why
the new SIM cards supplied won't work in old Nokia NK402s?

JB, just so I understand, are both of your phones on one account (i.e.
on one bill) or are they two accounts (two bills) managed under one
    on-line account?

I've got my 7 OVP-Virgin phones and my one ED50 on one account (one
bill) and by Canary on another account (second bill), but with both
managed through one online account. At present, despite messing about I
can only get an upgrade against one of the Virgin numbers.

I'm rather regretting the efforts I went to to migrate all of the OVP
    phones onto one bill...

It will self-register after a period of time, potentially leaving you
without a working SIM for a while. Best to do it yourself so you don't
    get caught out.

Just one account with one bill. It's a business a/c, dunno it that makes any
    difference.

Still got one phone to 'upgrade', but it rejected the password. It offered
to text me a new password, but as the phone isn't with me, I didn't bother.
    Will try harder tomorrow!

Have you tried the 439 (50ppm) help desk number? I did yesterday for the
'rejected password' phone mentioned above. I told the guy I wanted to send
texts from the website, but couldn't log in. ;-)

Yep but what about the SIM that came with the phone to replace your
    exisiting SIM.

I can use the phone with other SIMS no problem but if I don't "register"
the new phone/sim to my account what happens I wonder ?

I've finally managed to get 2 sorted, I definitely can't seem to log in
to the phone numbers that I transferred in when I moved my phones onto
    one account.

    I haven't.

If I've got a problem with my IT, I understand why I have to pay them
50p per minute to tell me how to fix it.

When they've got a problem with their IT, I resent paying them 50p per
minute for me to tell them how to fix it.

So, I sorted my last one today. (Also my first 6070 arrived)

I kept messing with the log on - can't remember exactly what I did - but
told the web site that I wanted to register a new number (coz they said it
    wasn't on their list!).
They sent me a new log in number by text and away we went!

    Why can't you log on?

I've had so many goes in various ways I've rather lost track, but as two
of the handsets are 35 miles away and the other in the boot of the
missus' car at the moment I can't sit and wait for texts. I'll try again
later in the week when I get to the other phones.

Methinks that's the only way - just hope that orange haven't 'twigged' then
    and withdrawn the offer!!

A colleague did 3 upgrades online. One phone turned up (well actually the
box did without the phone but thats another story). He only got a second
email for the one that turned up so he phoned Orange to find out what was
happening with the other two to be told that he wasn't allowed the upgrades
offered online as he was on OVP Virgin. She said that f he wanted any
upgrades they would cost him and that if he tried again online they wouldn't
get processed as his account had been flagged.

I've suggested he contact trading standards as Orange are offering
personalised upgrades via their website that they are then not honouring.

This is a similar situation as last year, hopefully peristance in
re-ordering the upgrades will pay off again.

We don't work together do we Jack?

I upgraded online on Saturday. Parceline courier arrived 10 minutes ago and
delivered an Orange branded box containing:

    an AC-3X charger
    a SIM
    generic Nokia manual
    Orange 'get started' manual
    Orange 'mobile internet' leaflet
Orange 'get started' leaflets x 2

....and that's it. No handset, no battery.

I called 150p141 and the 'offline' team will apparently get another phone to
    me within 3 days.

Same here :-( There's a batch of them. Orange are sending me a bag to
return it, and then sending out a new phone. So sometime next year
    then.

Probably not. Orange have admitted that loads went out with the phone
missing. They are currently investigating and sending out replacements.
