I want to be able to load received text messages onto either my Windows
or Mac computers. The Ericsson softwaree doesn;t seem to want to let me
do this. I can Sync contacts OK and transfer files to and from the
Memory stick but not upload text messages.
Any ideas please?

http://fma.sourceforge.net
I used it because the ericsson software destroyed my W2K partition.
It replaced various dlls that were needed for technical software and I
ended up having to reinstall tons of stuff.

Thanx but I want to be able to do it on a Win or a Mac, not Linux.
Doug.

If you'd bothered to check the link, you'd see it *was* for Windows.
Not everything on Sourceforge is for Linux.

For the Mac, I can suggest PhoneAgent:
http://www.macmedia.sk/
But it is 30 euros +VAT.
It does many other things too, including sending SMS via the K750 which
I have never managed to get to actually work using Address Book.

Re: K750i with Win or Mac
I use FMA on WinXP SP2 Doug - works great - does what you want - and more!
Here's a direct link to the download - just worked for me: SourceForge.net: Downloading ...
There's also the free but not open Source app: MyPhoneExplorer: FJ Software Development
Pretty much identical but a lot less thorough.Last edited by m8rk; 01-06-2007 at 06:23 PM.

For PC - floats mobile agent.
For Mac? No idea I'm afraid.

Then there's something wrong with your PC, or you have downloaded the
wrong file.

Nope. All the sources I have tried refuse to install.

I am going to try the official method. Apparently I need the CID
number, whatever that is. It begins with 99.
Thanks anyway, all,
Doug.

With what error message(s)? If you are unable to install float then
something is blocking it or you are doing something wrong.

What's the official method?

CID stands for Context ID. It is a parameter required for establishing
an internet connection over GPRS. It has nothing to do with backing up
text messages, or any other form of serial communication with the phone.

I hear Norton doesn't let it install.
MPE looks very nice looking again.
"I am going to try the official method. Apparently I need the CID

Float's Mobile Agent runs on Windows.

Yes I need it to establish an internet connection so that I can save
received text messages onto my computer. The abbreviated one seems to
work *99# and so does *99***2# The last number can be 1, 2 or 3.
It now seems that having gone to all the hassle of getting my phone
modem working Virgin won't let me use it and they seem to know damn all
about the subject. Will have to find another provider.
Doug.
