best text deal at moment ?

Hi All,

Whats the current best text deal around ? Had a quick look but there is
so many about Im currently on the o2 PAYG with my own phone at get 300
free a month for putting £10 credit on. PAYG would be best, if
possible. I dont use many voice calls, maybe £10 a month.

If you are a business customer (self-employed, sole trader etc) then
Orange have free unlimited texting for life on the Business+ range.

Cheapest PAYG PAYG (ie no bundles, spend-over-X-pounds offers etc) is
T-Mobile's Text Appeal tariff at 3p/text. Note that calls are fairly
expensive at 20p T-mob/landline, 40p x-net, 40p 0800/0845

would get you 333.

Yes, but with his current O2 deal, the OP gets 300 text *free*, leaving
his £10 credit open to spend on any combination of text or voice
calls.

If he doesn't use the whole allocation of 300 texts in a month, then he
should stay put (assuming he wants to stick with PAYG).

If he exceeds the allocation (ie more than 10 messages a day), then the
OP could spend an extra £5 on credit (ie £15 instead of £10), and
get an extra 200 texts. That is, he'd have 500 texts to use, and still
have £15 to spend on whatever he chooses.

Nor does the current top brass. It's available for domestics, it's
called "Dolphin 35" instead.

Thanks all, 3 seem to be doing a good deal at the moment £17.50 a
month for 1000 texts 300mins and a phone, sounds worth looking into.

My daughter used to (she's on a student contract), but it stopped sometime
before Xmas.
She rang and asked whassup and they said that the free 0800's was just a
courtesy thing for 12 months after we 'kicked up a fuss' when they
originally stopped it.

Is ther a sly way she can get them back?

Its tariff depended isn't it? As I have a business account, but don't
get free 0800 access and not account depended, but obviously you can't
get a certain business tariff which offers free 0800 first, unless
you've a business account to start with.

AFAIK not all business tariffs offer free 0800 and once you're on a
tariff, I don't think you could get loyalty discounts and offers as
on consumer plans, e.g. magic numbers?
