I used to use directory enquiries on the BT.com WAP site to look up phone
numbers for free - avoiding the rip-off 118 services.
But they've redesigned the site and now only the first welcome page comes up
on my trusty 6310i - trying to navigate past that gives a 'page not found'
error. The site is also broken on Pocket Internet Explorer on my Windows
Mobile device.
Anybody else had the same problems?
Benedict.

Same here. Discovered this last week when I tried to look up a phone
number. Grrrrr!

Just tried it on my 6310i, indeed you're right. My bookmark for the search
page just gives "Page not found", I can load wap.bt.com but can't get
anywhere productive from there.

I just went to wap.bt.com and followed the link to the phonebook
(wap.thephonebook.com) and it seems to have directory services there - have
they perhaps just given it a different name or is that not what you were
after? I've not used the bt.com site for a while so I can't remember what I
did before to look up numbers there.

You're right, they've altered things. A bookmark change and it all
works again.

Which model of phone are you using? I can get as far as "The Phone Book"
page but no further.
Thanks

K300i on Orange.
My trusty old Ericsson T39 with an O2 PAYG SIM won't work but the same
SIM in a Sagem MYX-7 does. So it seems to be a phone thing.

Hmmm, going to wap.thephonebook.com doesn't work on my 6310i. And it's also
broken on the WAP browser in Windows Mobile.
I've emailed BT and they say that BT Fusion are the people to talk to. I'll
keep the group posted.
Benedict.

BenQ-Siemens EF81 here (yeah, I'm one of the numpties who saddled themselves
with one ). A quick look at the details of the wap.thephonebook.com page
indicates that it is "type: application/xhtml+xml" - whatever that means?
Perhaps it requires certain functionality in your phone's browser (mine uses
Openwave 7.1.1.k.10) - or maybe it's a network issue (I'm on Vodafone).

Is there any email address for BT/Fusion you've been given, that I could
email? Perhaps someone else complaining of the same problem may help?
Feel free to mail me off-group if appopriate
