I would like to set up this unit to collect mail via POP3 from a server
running on a non standard port (rather then the default 110)

Going to <http://www.instantemail.t-mobile.co.uk/>, logging in and
getting to the advanced setup page, there is no facility I can see to
    specify a specific port.

I'm sure there used to be as I have done this before, but that might
    have been on Vodafone.

However, hunting a bit I have come across
    <https://www.liv.ac.uk/csd/mobile/pda/blackberry/blackberryemail.htm>
which clearly shows the option at the T-Mobile site.

    Has this now been removed?

I have tried appending "ort" after the server name but that does not
    work.

To crown it all, there are no links there to a support site other than a
link to a help file that is not much help.

    Any real help much appreciated.

A bit of a problem then as it does not allow me to create the account as
it fails to communicate with the remote server on the default 110 port!
It will not let you create and account unless it verify the domain, the
account and the password. Chicken and Egg syndrome!

If there is no other way then I think I can find a way round this by
creating a dummy user on an account that sits on a server using the
    default POP3 port.

Why can't they just give you the options in the first place? Sigh!!

    Thanks for the pointer.

Reached that point now and indeed it shows port 110 but I cannot click
in the field to change it!

    What next?

It actually has a coloured background.

I have called 150 from the phone and they have confirmed that they can
change the port for me but I need to go through security and it is not
    my phone ..

    Received this email from T-Mobile.

"unfortunately you cannot configure the Blackberry Internet Service to
use a non standard port for your email, it will only allow you to select
    port 110."

It seems the same on Vodafone too - they're actually the same portal -
the only port I could change to was 995, by ticking the SSL box.
    Bummer.

Just had the following update from a nice chap at T-Mobile

We have tested the newer version of the Blackberry Internet Service and
it does not allow the use of non standard port either. Unfortunately
the only option I can suggest is to use a fwding rule from your email to
the instantemail address as I advised this will provide the same result

    It won't.

It will actually be a better result.

If you forward emails (at provider level) to the instantemail address,
you will get true push email.

If you want the BlackBerry to collect mails from another account, it
will only check the mailbox every 15 minutes.
