Hi,
I've just received a Nokia 3110 Classic from Orange [monthly
contract] and now want to unlock it so that I can also use it on the
other UK networks.
I Google searched and found unlocking codes for the 3110 on the
'unlock.NokiaFREE.org' web-site which I entered into the phone but
neither the 7# nor the 1# codes worked. I also tried codes from a
couple of other sites and these both failed as well.
I've now used four of my five unlocking lives so I now need to be very
sure that the next code I enter really is the correct one.
However, I'm now wondering if the 'Nokia 3110 Classic' is actually a
different design from the Nokia 3110 for which I found the inoperative
codes.
Is this the case? Can anyone enlighten me, and maybe also suggest a
100% sure way of getting this phone unlocked? FWIW, I'm located in the
Bromley, SE London area.
Many TIA,
- Dave

Yep. the 3110 classic and (original) 3110 are completely different
handsets, so not surprising unlock codes won't work.
Only viable way I can suggest for getting the unlock code is to pay
Orange the fee to get an official unlock code... fee will probably be
about 20 quid.

Many thanks, Matt, for confirming my suspicions. Ah well, can't win
'em all!
