Hello there, First time on the forums and not know much about the topics
with sony erricsons, more of a computer based person that with mobile
phone. Anyway heres the deal, two things which I will ask seperately.
A family member of mine came around today with a Sony Erricson W850i, I
beleive she found it, anyway, it is locked to vodaphone. I put a
vodaphone chip in it, all works perfect, I can send and recieve text
messages but I just can not make/recieve calls? Is this a fault with the
phone is it blocked/barred in the UK? I dont know because I though when
a phone was blocked it could not even connect to the network. But
everything appears normal to the extent off viewing vodaphone
reception(logo) and the bars to sending and recieve text messages, but
when I ring the phone or try and ring on it, it attemps to then just
gives me like a bleep and goes off. Could anyone enlighten me on what
the problem is and how to go about getting around it if any instructions
are not to be given.
The second thing I am to ask is that, I have an SPV M600 (more or less
brand new), I have a wired gps unit with it, a wired gps receiver is
plugged into the cradle which appears to be a telephone port and then
you connect the cradle to the phone by bluetooth, so all in all acts as
a bluetooth receiver. But the main problem is, is that I can not connect
to the cradle because I do not know the password. I have tried all the
usual suspects for bluetooth pairing 0000,1111,0011,1100 etc loads of
combinations but still nothing. Is there anyway i can connect the two
devices togethor to act as if theyre paired etc or basically crack the
bluetooth code?
I thank you in advance for your responses and I stressfully await
patiently.
Cheers Paul

It most have properly been blocked by the original network. Best thing to do
it hand it in to your local police station.

unlikely that that will happen as his 2nd problem would seem to have a
similar source!

it's probably blocked as stolen - hand it in to the police and avoid leaving
money around the house when she visits.

some folk might have handed it in to the police so it could be re-united
with the rightful owner.
or even easier, look at the address book on the phone and called one of the
people so once again, the owner could get it back.

Stealing by finding is still stealing, and you are aiding and abetting
the theft.
Why not just do the decent thing for a change and hand it in! If it's
unclaimed in three months you get it back anyway! Go on it wont hurt
you to do a good deed, it's hardly like the things worth dying over is
it!

You know the phone was found, you are assuming it has been blacklisted and
now you are going to auction it?
Wouldn't handing it to the police or phoning the network not be the right
thing to do?

I wouldn't hand in a desirable Handset if i found one.
It's no good to the person who's reported it stolen and probably
received a replacement.
A possible exception being, if it contained data of sentimental value.
