I'm changing to three and want a smart phone to be able to keep and edit
work docs and synch with outlook etc. I'm considering the N73, 6120C, or the
E65.
Can anyone offer any recommendations? I don't want to end up with a turkey
if I'm going to be stuck with it for 18 months.
Thanks

Don't think you'll find many independant retailers doing cashback deals with
3UK.
You might get 1/2 price line rental and £50 credit if you call 3UK direct,
depending on what tariff you go for.
Check www.three.co.uk for latest deals.
I've got a Nokia N73 from 3UK which I've rebranded to a generic N73 Music
Edition version. I've also <cough> upgraded QuickOffice to allow me to edit
word/excel/ppoint/txt files. I'm on a old tariff of
300mins/1000txt/50video/50MMS/£5 downloads for £30pm (9mths half price + £50
credit) and added X-Series Silver for £5, but I've recently purchased the
Nokia 6120c for my wife on the 500min/100txt for £20 and X-Series Silver £5.
This allows us to talk for free on Skype while I'm away from home working.
Unlimited email and internet access, usually msn each other rather than text
now.
The N6120c is smaller and nicer looking than my N73, but the N73 has a 3MP
camera and the N6120c has 2MP, the N73 has a bigger screen, but the N6120c
has newer software which seems to be more stable than the N73's. One thing I
miss on my N73 is Wifi which I know the E65 has, but be warned I'm sure the
E65 can on access certain WPA/WEP/etc...
Depending on how much you want to spend a month the N95 looks the best, it
has BT/Wifi and 5MP camera, but suffers a big from build quality and some
software issues. There is the newer N95 8GB coming out soon, but don't know
when 3UK will eventually get it.
Sorry I can't say def go for this one or that one, its more of a personal
choice and what exactly you want from the phone. If its style or size go for
N6120c, if its camera N95, if its deals N73 (I've seen more deals on the N73
cos its the oldest phone), E65???

Thanks for help. What is the camera quality like on the n6120? And how easy
is it to edit docs? Not sure whether its worth paying the extra for the N73
especially as it's refurbished

I don't use my camera much, but the photos the wife's taken in her N6120c
seem good and the video is reasonable as well. Its never going to be as good
as a standalone camera, but for the odd picture its fine.
The Wife's got the black N6120c, but I was in a Three store on saturday and
saw the pink and white one, think the black one looks the best.
If you need any help with software or want to know what these phones can do,
check out my blog and website. The same apps can be used in the N6120c and
N73.
Heres a small list of what I've got installed in my N73 at the moment:-
Opera Mobile v8.65
Opera Mini v4 beta2
Teashark Web Browser
Windows Live Messenger
Skype for 3
CorePlayer
LCG Jukebox
Podcasting for Nokia
Google Mail
Google Maps
Sky Anytime
Jaiku
SymTorrent
QuickOffice v4.5
Live PVR
Papyrus
SplashID
SMS Chat
Handy Blacklist
Flash LITE
RotateMe
Handy Taskman
Handy Clock
Handy Keylock
Y-Browser
X-plore
FExplorer
Handy Zipman

Thanks, very helpful. Went to actually hold the phones today (trying to
avoid over eager salesman) and I still can't make up my mind - maybe I'll
stick a pin in!
Salesman was pushing the N73 but my one reservation with that is that I
object to actually having to pay for a refurbished phone!

If you are looking for an 6120C, there are some cashback deals from e2save,
buymobilephones and dialaphone, the cheapest deal is £12.50 per months
through e2save 12 month contract, 200 mins 100 txt, but take a look here to
compare all deals
http://www.mobilephonecontract.co.uk...10&sortby=&i=s
>
the E65 seems to be best to get direct from 3
http://www.mobilephonecontract.co.uk...10&sortby=&i=s
or the N73 is available via 3, mobileshop
http://www.mobilephonecontract.co.uk...10&sortby=&i=s
I would personally widen your network choice, for the phones that you are
comparing there are better deals from other networks, IE, N65 on three 500
mins 100 txt is total of £409.99 for an 18 month contract, same phone on O2
for 400 mins and 500 txt is £336.93 after cashback. But really depends on
how many mins / txts you are looking for you have to do some researching to
explore the best deal for you.

Gerry,
Whats the N73 like for UI speed? The one they had on display in the 3 store
seemed a bit slow, not sure what software version it was running. There was
a 1 or 2 second delay in opening the new text message window etc.
Does the UI speed improve after you reflashed it?
