My phone just received a message. The ring tone was not the usual one for
text/MMS messages. In the Inbox there is a message the text of which simply
says "1 new message." Clicking on More then Information gives a URL that
    starts http://w03.wrx1.net/app/do<snipped>

Doing a whois reveals w2mobile.com as the admin contact

    Any idea what it's about?

    See More: Strange phone message

Is it possible to prevent getting these reverse charge sms messages?
I've never had any (yet) but they could make a mobile phone completely
unusable if you were sent lots of such messages - they'd either continually
wipe out your credit on a pay as you go or give you a heart attack if you
were on a contract when you got the bill.

I think that you should reply to it with just the word "STOP" but please
double check. That is the usual way to prevent further texts of that nature
but that reply text will cost you something to send.
