I have a Nokia 5200 that was locked to Virgin, on request they
supplied the unlock code which I duly entered.
The phone accepted the code no problem. Left my virgin sim in for
a couple of days while I dug out an O2 and Orange sim. If I put
either of these in the phone I get the error message "Sim card
registration failed". Replace the Virgin sim and the phone works
fine.
At the risk of asking the dumbest question ever, are these cards
failing to register because there is no credit on them (they're
both new) or is there another problem.
Please note, I push buttons on the phone to make it work, I have
no real understanding of it - so simple replies please

How old are the sims you are trying I know o2 ones do have a use by
date If they are not registered prior to that date they will not work.
