Hi I have a SE K800i which was unlocked at a local shop. They said
that I must not update my phone and have disabled the update facility.
I would like to know why they said this, is it because it will mess up
the phone or is it for another reason.
TIA
Tony

hrere's what I said on 7th July when you asked the same question.
"There's a way to unlock some SE phones on the cheap by uploading a
custom firmware. Obviously if a new non-modified firmware is
installed, e.g. through upgrading, then the unlocking would be undone.
Doing it this way is cheaper and easier than full unlocking, which
would survive a firmware upgrade, but I'd suggest it's dishonest.
Compare on here: "patch unlock" (patching the firmware) vs "unlock"
(doing it properly). the latter takes a lot more effort, and a lot
more money as a result. https://davinciteam.com/buycredits.html?pro=uk
