How would one go about syncing calendar entries from an N73 to an
iPhone? The contacts bit was fairly easy using windows address book, but
iTunes is saying "No supported calendar application can be found." So
what exactly is a supported calendar application?

Just to follow up, it looks like this can be done easily enough using MS
Outlook. Since I don't have Outlook that's of no use to me, I'm
certainly not buying it just to transfer my calendar to my iPhone!

I also have a Google account and it would be quite nice to sync with
that too. Is there some way of getting my N73 to send my calendar to
Google, then get the iPhone to sync with the Google Calendar? I got my
Gmail account set up is a few seconds, but can't see anything similar
    for the calendar.

I don't understand how this can be so damn difficult when everything
else has been such plain sailing!

This is sooo frustrating, it just seems like Apple are putting up
obstacles at every single turn! I've managed to get my N73 to sync with
Google calendar using http://www.GooSync.com which is a pretty neat service.

However, it doesn't appear to be possible to get Google Calendar to sync
with the iPhone. In fact it would seem the ONLY way to get the iPhone
calendar to sync is to use MS Outlook. This is not an option for many
people, myself included. So what the hell are we supposed to do Apple?!?

Don't know if this is any help but, running vista, plugged in my iPhone, ran
iTunes ... it offers the option to sync iPhone contacts with Google
Contacts, Yahoo Address Book, Outlook and Windows Contacts. As I presume as
you do not see the Google option I can only guess I've installed something
from Google's website, maybe it's the Google Desktop software
    http://desktop.google.com/ ?

I realise that I've spent this entire thread talking to myself, sorry
about that. But after a *LOT* of Googling I have /finally/ found a
solution. It's a really good one too, so I thought I'd share it here in
the hope it will help others.

I used NuevaSync <http://www.nuevasync.com> to get Google calendar to
sync with the iPhone. Not only does it send all the events to your
iPhone it also offers 2-way synchronisation, so changes you make on the
iPhone are sent to the Google Calendar and vice-versa. Many of the other
horrible solutions won't allow 2-way communication so this is a big
bonus for NuevaSync. That and the fact it's free as well!

You should bear in mind that it's only in beta, so use with caution.
I've only had a quick play with it, but everything seems to be working
flawlessly. It uses Microsoft Exchange so you don't have to jailbreak or
install any third party applications, just enter you NeuvaSync account
details into you iPhone and it works!

It's also compatible with contacts too, so you can sync your Google
contacts using the same account information. Quite frankly this is an
amazing service I would be perfectly happy to pay for, so for it to be
offered free is brilliant. It will be interesting to see how long it
stays free once it's out of beta and demand goes through the roof

For now though, if you have an iPhone, and you've got a Google Calendar,
this is by far the best solution out there!

No, contacts was the east bit, see the second sentence of the first post

I just had to sync that with my Windows Address book, the Calendar was
the sicking point. However having found NuevaSync
<http://www.nuevasync.com> I've now set it up for Contacts as well and
it's working like a dream! Really can't rate this site highly enough.

Just to add to this, NeuvaSync will also work with Thunderbird if you
use the Lightning calendar plug-in. I've documented the whole process on
my blog which you can find here:

    http://lufferov.blogspot.com/2008/08...ndar-sync.html

I have also set it up for contacts and have full synchronisation between
Thunderbird, Google and the iPhone! Who needs mobileme when this works
more reliably and is totally free!
