Thinking about the Nokia 6500 slider from three on mix & match 300 for
    15 quid.
Read some mixed reviews about the phone, and the network.
Anyone on this contract, 3 user, or 6500 user with comments?
    Thanks.

I've been on M&M 300 for a couple of months, and I've had nothing but
good experiences, even with CS, so far. The phone was a 6120. No
    coverage or other problems.

Last week I got a couple of 6500s on the same tariff. I like the phone
(and so do my sons, for whom they were obtained!). Parts of the case are
even metal! It seems quite solid, although heavier than the 6120 (but a
bigger screen). And it doesn't have that Symbian "can't turn off the
startup tune" annoyance that the 6120 does! It's relatively heavy
compared to the 6120. Being a slider, I can't keep it in a protective
case all the time as I can with the "candy bar" type phones.

Difference was you could have the 6120 on a 6 month deal,
the 6300 is on a 18 month deal, so you pay 3 times as much,
whether or not you want the M&M300

Can't say that bothers me...I tend to keep phones for a long time, an
    average of 3 years.

Point is you'll be paying 3 times the amount

On a 18month contract you could get a better phone for not much more

I wouldn't bother. If the phone works, I can't be arsed to upgrade to
the latest and greatest every few months.

That may well be. Upgrading for the sake of it just smacks of the saddos
    who run after iPhones...!

No, it's part of recouping the costs of the contract. Have a contract
with a free phone, and £x a month goes towards the cost of the handset.
Once the 18months is up, then £x a month becomes extra profit for your
provider. Even if I don't want a new phone, if I'm happy to tie into the
deal for another 12/18months I get an upgrade phone out of the provider.
I can then choose which phone I'm putting on eBay, I regularly get upto
£100 for last years phone, and this years phone can often be £200+ if I
choose to keep the older phone. If I'm intending to sell, I'll often
just pick the phone with the highest current eBay values.

You would, but you still come across quite a few people who haven't
caught on, especially those not quite up with eBay, or those just 'but
    I'm happy with my phone'.
