I've just got this on an 18 month contract. Will it come unlocked?
If my circumstances change and I want to change the tariff (to less
minutes) can I do it before the end of the contract?

For the love of God, why?

No.

Yes, but only after 9 months, and only by one price point, i.e. £5.

That's not strange, its a very low-value handset.

Erk! Anyone know what the other networks policy / time periods
on down tariffing are now?

I must be missing something here, because it's better than the V500,
V545 and L7 which I've also got (indeed, I upgraded from the L7 to
this). Better screens, 2GB built in RAM, voice recognition, and MILES
better than Motorola's offerings typically found on PAYG.

It's still a low-value handset. I'd be suprised if Orange were paying
more than £50 for them.
