It was a while ago when I unlocked mine (from eBuyer) I think mine
showed as unlocked with the original 3 USIM in it.
I can't recall if you could check the status with no SIM present but it
was definitely locked and wouldn't work with a T-mobile SIM: it doesn't
need to be a USIM.
