Did I miss something here?
Have a Nokia 6111 on Virgin but if I put a T-Mobile Sim in it, it
asks for the unlock code.
I thought Virgin was just a virtual network on the back of
T-Mobile, am I wrong?

Virgin usually also GID1 sim lock as well as SP lock their phones.
T Mobile usually only SP lock.
