The ones beginning with 07 are especially valuable.

Not sure if you're being serious, but if your number is something memorable
(say a repeating pattern, or lots of the same digit) or if the numbers *****
something using the letters on the phone keypad (eg 24741 - CHRIS) then it
    might be worth something.
There's lots of sites that specialise in this sort of thing.(Google for Gold
    numbers or Personalised numbers)
    eg: http://www.metallicnumbers.com/menu2.html

eg They are selling 07513000000 for two and a half grand!!

and they have already actually sold another one for £2750!!

Quite a cool number (especially if the last 2 digits are the obvious ones!!)
Even if they are not, I'd guess it might be worth something (probably not 2
    grand though).
You should try contacting a couple of these companies that specialise in
these things as see if they're interested!!

    - I'll accept 10% as my 'finders fee'!! :-P

Well, if you will use a horrid web frontend to usenet, instead of a
proper usenet client, what do you expect?

    > its 077665544**.

Well it's quite a catchy number, presumably it doesn't end in 33, I
don't know of anywhere that trades existing mobile numbers though.

Not when you consider the amounts some sad people people pay for a personalised
car number plate! At least there's some point in having a memorable phone
number, I can only think of disadvantages to having a memorable car number plate
    ;-)

If your number contains descending digits in that pattern then it will be
    worth a fair bit - I wouldn't be surprised if a business(wo)man was prepared
to pay in excess of £5000 for it.

Funny, I've not come across any in 10 years.

Wish we had the US system of number plates though, anything you like as
long as it's not obscene or already in use and more important than that
dirt cheap at an average price of $25..!

Also radio amateurs are automatically entitled to their callsign as a
plate and nobody else can have it.

I disagree to be honest. I still remember the number of a defunct taxi firm
from local radio ads two decades ago, however everyone has a mobile now.

Then - what's the number of that taxi firm - sing catchy lric

Now - look at mobile and ring Taxi
