I plan on becoming a new customer to U.S. Cellular in the very new future. However, I was told that I have to put $100 down in a doposite, and that the costs of the phone would be seperate. I thought to myself how ridiculous this was. The question I have is; since I have only the $100 for the deposite, and no money for the phone are there any free phones on the market that are flip style without all the bells and whistles? I just want a phone that works without the keypad being visible or so far out that my pocket starts dialing numbers that were not intended to be dialed ie; 911.

US Cellular will only require a (refundable) deposit if your credit is a bit tarnished. The availibility of the phones depends on your location. USCC offers a variety of flip phones for under $100 if you are signing a new contract with them. Just check their website.

what he said about the deposit is right..

and every market has different deals so really you would need to check on the US Celly website to see exactly whats offered.

right now some markets do have a Penny phone with new activation, but it requires trying the 'easyedge' service for atleast 3 months to get it that cheap (otherwise phone is only $19.95 w/ new activation)

hello, I am a agent and we do have a phone available to most stores and it is the lg145 it has no side buttons and it is a flip phone. This phone is primarly designed for talking. IT will cost you nothing or you could mow a yard or 2 and make yourself a couple extra bucks and get a samsung u340 for 9.95 w/contract. It you want more info on the phones visit uscc.com
