does anyone know what the charges will be if i called someone i know who is in china. i randomly felt like dialing the number (without dialing all the international extention numbers)thinking it wouldnt connect and it worked. does that mean its regular long distance or still the international charge.

Re: international calling
Yeah... international calling is going to be $1.25/minute or more - and be careful: Canada is considered international even though you can direct dial it (you don't have to dial 011 first). Calling card is definitely the way to go.

Re: international calling
well if they answered the call in china and spoke chinese them most likely you will have hefty international calls rate to china. I used to spend alot of money on long distance and international calls but then a friend introduce me to this site called callarc.com, since i was one of the first guys to register I was able to make international and long distance phone calls for free. I believe the full version is coming out sometimes in the summer but its worth checking them out. The service is voip and and a client that runs on android, iphone and even send in a text message to make international calls for free. Check them out, pretty cool.
Good luck buddy

Re: international calling
Calling China is cheap if you use a VoIP service or at least a calling card. I use Onesuite service and China is less than 2 cents per minute.

Re: international calling
i know a website which gives out free calling card. My younger sister uses that site to call her friends. You know how girls love talking all the time hahaha. Anyways, the site is phoneleechers.com . i would have given my ref code but then it would look like spamming this wonderful cellphone forum.
Enjoy.

Re: international calling
It is $1.50-2.00 per minute more or less. You can either buy a call card or get a new sim card. I used AT&T for my plan but for my international calls or travel I use InTouch SmartCards. You have a lot of options for calling china.
