A friend of mine is having all kinds of problems with reception and overages with her air card. She lives in an area that calls drop frequently and her options are either dial-up or US Cellular air-card. She's on the 5gb plan and she's been told she uses too much bandwidth.

Once she found out that, she still really struggles to keep under. She does Facebook and reads the news. That's about it.
So how does a person, out in the boonies, realistically use the air-card?
