I am a college student and I recently broke my second phone in 2 years...My parents are not pleased. Last time this happened our contract was up for renewal so I was able to get one of the cheaper phones for a penny or something but that isn't the case now so I need to buy myself a new phone. Since I am pretty much broke, I was looking into buying a used phone on ebay and transferring the sim card...Until I found out that US Cellular doesnt have sim cards. Is this true and is there any way I can get a used phone and get it on my parents' plan? Or do I need to perhaps get my own plan?
Thanks for your help!

Re: please help: used phone question
You are right, US Cellular phones do not have SIM cards. They are a CDMA phone. You can either ask your friends if they have a phone that they no longer use that you can have and you can then take it to be activated OR buy a used phone. I see them on Craigslist and Ebay. Word of warning, if you buy a phone that is reported stolen or deactivated because of lack of payment you may have trouble activating it yourself. Here where I live people who sell them on Craigslist will sometimes go with you to a US Cellular store with the phone to prove that it can be activated...
Hope this helps...
