Re: The name game - Sprint's new name
"Alas, it's changing this thing: Navas is clearly getting worse as time
goes by. You just haven't seen him hit a new low yet. He will. Trust
me."
You know, I am new to this group, but it's just so sad to me that there
are people like Navas trapped in their homes with no friends or family
to talk to and all they have to do is post nasty garbage on newsgroups.
They don't shower, they don't shave.. they don't open the blinds, that
simply become "trolls" on newsgroups and it's their only reason for
waking up in the morning.
Tragic. I am sure Navas' parents had much bigger plans for his life
when he was little. What a disappointment.

Re: The name game - Sprint's new name
It will be confusing until all the partners get in line. Right now, there
is no single Sprint version of anything. But Sprint users love sprint, and
Cingular users love cingular. People will change when the value changes;
not when the name changes. dr

If you look at the customer satisfaction ratings, users love their
carriers in different amounts.
Out of the six regions that JD Power looked at, T-Mobile was top-ranked
in every region, Verizon was top-ranked in five regions, and U.S.
Cellular was top ranked in one region (ties were allowed).
Sprint, Cingular, Qwest, and Alltel, were not top-ranked in any region.

For Business Wireless, Verizon ranks the highest, which is quite a
change, as back when AT&T was TDMA, they had very good ratings in terms
of business satisfaction. See

What you actually see, if you look (absent any agenda), is that
differences between carriers are small, too small to make any material
difference. Those ratings of call quality ranged from only +/-2% to
only +/-5% in the six regions. But of course you can't resist trying to
make Cingular look bad and Verizon look good, even when the evidence
doesn't really support what you're claiming.

OK, John. Why don't you post this in a relavent group?! Might I suggest
alt.cellular.verizon and alt.cellular.cingular?
:-) ... just trying to be more like you.

I did. Guess you missed that in your haste to say something nasty.

No, indeed you did not. You posted in Cingular and Sprint. I replied to both
and added Verizon and removed Sprint PCS from the follow-up ... the text above
only applies to Verizon and Cingular.

+/- 5% is actually quite large when normalized over an entire customer base,
Skippy. For Cingular, 5% would represent over 2 million subscribers. That
is hardly an immaterial difference.

You wouldn't know evidence if it came up and bit you on the ass. You are
