    to my comcast.net address.
    Thanks

Well possibly, and depends if you are just accessing the web through the
phone, or if the phone is tethered to your laptop.

Regarding just through the phone, does Comcast offer a web based email
interface, like Earthlink.com or Sprintpcs.com? If it does, you should be
able to view them, by plugging in your user name and password. If they don't
offer a web based email client, then no ... you probably won't be able to.

If you are using the phone tethered to a laptop, you probably can. If you
can't, there is one sure way you can view your Comcast email, and that's to
do email forwarding from your Comcast inbox to your sprintpcs.com email
    address.

    Re: Getting comcast e-mail

Comcast.net requires SMTP authentication for POP3/SMTP access. HEre's the
URL for a discussion of this issue:
    http://forums.comcast.net/thread.jsp...3116&tstart=45

If your device and its software cannot do this, then here's my alternate
    approach:

You buy a domain and pay for domain + e-mail service. That becomes your
    new e-mail address.

Configure your e-mail service at Register.Com (or e-mail provider of your
    choice) to _both_
    a) Forward all e-mails to your Comcast.Net address, AND
    b) Keep a copy on their server.

Then, you can pick up the e-mails at the ESP (E-mail Service Provider) and
    reply to them from there.

This has an added benefit that your e-mail address henceforth will not
change, because you own it and the domain it's attached to.

Make sure to either BCC: your Comcast address, or configure the e-mail app
in your phone or PDA to automatically bcc: to it, so you have file copies
    of what you send.

See if your ComCast email account allows mail forwarding. Any mail
sent to my ISP's and my own domain's address, gets forwarded to my
    PCS addy.

Actually, this is much, much easier to do than that.

    Since Comcast uses POP3 mail...

It can be done via the PCS mail interface.

    On sprint's website,

    1. log into your account
    2. go to my online tools -> PCS Mail
    3. Go to Settings & Prefs (This is the one next to View/organize and
    Compose)
    4. Click on the Setup tab
    5. Go to External Email setup and click on add
    6. Use other for the mail server and put in mail.comcast.net for the
    incoming server
    7. username is your full comcast email addy: eg, [email protected]
    8. Password, self explanitory.
    9. Click on done (I always leave a copy on server so I can get it at home
    later)
    10. From your phone to check your mail, go to pcs mail to option 9, other
mail, and then your external mail is then checked, and your inbox number
will grow accordingly. (You may get timed out messages, this happens if
your mail is larger than a certain size and the phone can't handle it.)

(other than a spam repository, this is one of the more useful things one can
    do with PCS mail)

This is true, but Vision is unpredictable at times, so I try to
    use otehr methords.

True, another option is to have hotmail/yahoo/whatever check external pop3
mail, this can be done on most of the free services, IIRC, and I think that
can follow over to SPCS' portals. (I don't use hotmail/yahoo so I wouldn't
    know)
