How is this phone? I have a friend who is in the market for a new
provider, and I recommended Sprint. He is looking for a good, basic
phone that gets a good signal and has decent battery life. He doesn't
need wireless web or Vision... just a good voice phone.

The Nokia is currently a free phone for new subscribers. Is this a good
option for him? Does it get a good signal? Is it a reliable voice
    phone?

    Thanks,
    Eric

    Re: Nokia 3585i Questions

I would tell him to hold off for another month and wait for the Nokia
3588i. It will be a color screen upgrade to the 3585i but will not be
Vision capable. A possible reason to hold out for this is that it looks
a little better than the 3585i which I think is Nokia's worst looking
    phone ever.

Another poster suggested your friend wait for the next Nokia phone,
which he said will be out in a month. The 3585i is apparently being
    discontinued.

However, I tried this phone Saturday and it was very nice. The
sound on the receiving end was great, and the person I spoke to said that
it sounded like a corded phone. I have been told that the reception is as
good as a Sanyo 4900, which is the best I've ever had.

The 3585i Is one of Sprints best phones. At the gym it gets a lot of
attention. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
