iPhone in Canada

So the iPhone is only coming out in the US. But would it be possible to buy one in the US, and use it in Canada?
With any of the service providers, any are good.

right now, apple is only authorizing sales to cingular, and because they come locked(and won't be unlocking them any time soon, or will they?)you be able to use them in canada.

Nope, they're only selling through AT&T (strict 5 year, exclusive contract), not Cingular, and although they will still be locked, well, that's what we're here for. We shall see but I will wait until they are released in Canada and then see where things stand as far as getting unlocking codes, modding, price, etc.

Lol...actually, I think that they were talking about using the Cingular name again...but they sure know how to get things confused...I prefer Cincular over AT&T...that always sounds like Nortel to me.

well i think europe is going to get it later on this year so canada should be before that.

Canada will probably see it first, then the UK and then sometime in 2008 Asia will see it. But alas, still no word on it from Rogers yet (probably still inking out the deal).
