    Just got my replacement moto557 and it also drops calls a lot.I have talked to a few people and have heard the same thing .Bad reception and dropped calls.Why can't they make this phone better.I have had 3,4,5,bars and get dropped calls.I need a BeTTER phone. ANY IDEAS on the????????THANKS

    The v557 is not a bad phone, are you sure it's not the area you live in that is not adequately covered by your carrier?

    No dropped calls with my V557 in Seattle. ONly time Ihave any real problems in when I'm in known dead spots going down certain hills (due to blocking of towers), or when in a fringe area while holding the phone. Otherwise even with 2 bars I can make and receive calls.

    It may not be the phone. It may be that the tower is at capacity. Is this at certain times of the day? Peak time? Do you have the same problem with a different phone on the same network?
