There are a number of issues that I've noticed with my (Orange customised)
Nokia 6680 since I got it. I just thought I'd share them with you.
1. Picture messaging and video messaging don't work unless you phone
customer services and tell them it's not working - apparently it 'resets
your access at there end' (their words, not mine!).
2. If you decide to use a SIM lock code, you lose your ability to use your
line 2. Meaning you have to leave it off leaving your SIM vulnerable if
your phone gets stolen.
3. Video messaging isn't working (tested in the middle of Manchester with 2
phones next to each other) - probably due to the same problem stated in 1.
4. Internet/WAP/Email access is sporadic - sometimes it refuses to connect
to the portal at all.
5. The active desktop is OK - but I'm sure it wastes much needed memory (I
keep getting plenty of memory full errors - QuickPoint and Acrobat reader
are practically useless) Why, WHY do you not get the ability to disable it.
The phone is great! And I'm sure that If I bought one off the shelf without
all the orange crap I'd be having no problems. Why have Orange given
themselves the extra burden of having to fix issues with there proprietary
software instead of letting users use their phones in the way Nokia designed
them to.
I'm particularly miffed about the SIM lock thing.
Rant over....Thanks for listening

yup- agreed. They always forget to send you the MMS sim update when you
register your SIM.

Isn't it? bummer - I've got video calling to work ok.

I must say I've found it pretty stable in that dept. What the 3G
signal like?

the added orange screen is crap, uncustomisable, memory hogging, and is
only to bombard us with links to bloody orange world. you cant remove
it, and they have delelted some core nokia system options. crap crap
crap. booo to orange.
