    I live in Canada and we probably won't be getting the iPhone here until much later this year (at least.) Theoretically, if I wanted one badly enough could I buy one from Cingular, unlock it and pop in my Rogers SIM card?

    I'm not sure that features like voicemail would work at all though given the tight integration of the phone with the backend infrastructure AT&T is bringing to the device.

    no unlocking from apple they signed a contract with at&t that wont allow them to unlock the phone for 5 years.
