Ok, the boost phone is a prepaid phone. It is .25 per min. , and $1.50 per day for radio talk time. To get a contract you need to get a nextel phone, and if you want you nextel sim card to work with a boost phone that you like just unlock it. I will be glad to help you unlock your phone if you are going to buy a nextel phone.

I don't think it is. Why would anybody pay those kind of prices for minutes and direct connect time?
When I was in the Nextel store last week, I saw the Boost sign and asked about it. The guy told me flat out it's a real bad deal and he has no idea why people pay that much for it.

I'm gonna be very honest. I have a boost mobile phone. I have a Motorola i830 with Nextel. It's a nice phone but hardly worth what I paid for it. I gave up $325.00. It dosen't do anything spectacular or out of the ordinary. I feel real stupid now. I got on a contract though. Paying $99.99 a month for unlimited everything. I guess that's about the only cool thing. If you're really looking for people's opinions, take it from someone who knows personally. BELIEVE ME. IT WOULD BE A BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!

The boost is really set for those who don't want a plan or who can't get a plan. This is especially for teens still in school. I have a brother in school who wants one and it's like the "it" thing to have --a boost phone. Of course everyone a group has a boost so it's okay to get the phone and just chirp their friends for 1.50 a day.

Boost / Worth It?
I have Boost; I have the i860 (Tattoo). Cool phone, does what it is supposed to. Direct connect quality is better than cell, & cell isn't bad.
Paid $294. and expecting the 50 dollar rebate. Don't have to worry when funds are short; money is low or slow, just slow down on the talking - no bill to worry about. Is a bit more expensive though. For one dollar fifty, I talk to whomever, whenever on the direct connect per day. If I don't use it, I don't get charged. Not bad for people who don't want to make cell bill or cell plan deposit a huge priority in life.
Boost just announced a "plan" to start at the beginning of May in Ohio valley, Chicago, and Northern California; 49.99 for 150 anytime, unlimited nights and weekend, unlimited direct connect, and unlimted web. Might be worth it for those who don't want to or can't get plan.Last edited by relentless; 04-22-2005 at 04:06 PM. Reason: Forgot something, misspelling

Prepaid/Monthly Boost
Oh, by the way, sorry I posted in the wrong place/forum. But to answer the question.
I logged on to "My Account" to find out my status. There was a new screen; this is the new arrangement.
Prepaid Credit Balance:
$x.xx
Monthly Minutes:
0 Regular Time
0 Boost Time
Expires xx/xx/xxxx
1 Add Money
2 Exit
I called Boost to see what this was about. They told me about the three, "trial" markets, and told me that I was eligible with a credit card after the second of May.
B.B.
