This has been driving me nuts. I have a phone number saved in my contacts for a friend but whenever I get a call from him it doesn't recognize it as being saved to my contacts!

Everytime my friend texts me it asks me if I want to save it to my contacts. I've already done that. Many times; with and without an area code.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

The only time that's ever happened to me was because the area code was missing or once I'd saved a number with a "1" in front of it. Do you have the same number saved more than once? Try deleting all duplicate entries for that number and making sure you have the 10-digit number (123)456-7890.

Honestly, if you haven't made some simple mistake and you're sure you did it right, then it sounds like your phone has a problem. I've never really liked the PM-225 very much, if you're a new Sprint user within the 30 day period, I would highly advise you to get that PM-225 exchanged for a different model.

Mine's a piece of crap, has been from the day I got it. It power-cycles sometimes for no reason and the menu is very slow. Press the Menu key, wait 2 seconds, select the next option, wait 2 more seconds... Don't ask me why I still have it, I couldn't tell ya.

Sorry if this wasn't much help to you... try what I said first, make sure it's not saved more than once, and if it's still not working then take it back to the store. Remember you only have 30 days to pressure them into a new phone, after that they'll make you file an insurance claim to get one.

edit: This might be a silly last guess, but with the way this phone's contact list is setup, I've forgotten to hit "save" a few times, especially when the phone was new to me.
