Computer can't read memory card

I have a Venus, and I save my pics to the memory card. When I put it in my card reader, Windows tells me I must format the card before I can use it. I formatted it with my phone before I used it, and it works fine in my phone. Any ideas?

I decided to perform another troubleshooting test, it seems my WinXP desktop CAN read the card fine, but my Vista laptop cannot. Anybody know how to convince Vista to read it?
