So I just got my 2GB microSD card in.

I powered off my v365 phone, popped the back off, and inserted the microSD 2GB card.

Powered the phone back on, went into settings, and instructed the phone to use the Storage Card for holding videos, photos, mp3s, etc. [Switch Storage Device (Memory Card - Unformatted | Phone)]

I select the Unformatted Memory Card, and I am presented the message: "Storage Device Unreadable. Format Now?" I selected yes and agree to the fact that "Formatting will erase all data. Continue?".

However, it tells me, "Format Failed. Try Again?"

    That is all I see.

I can read the card fine in Windows XP using a card reader.

Should I format the card using Windows? If so, would I select FAT or FAT32?

How do I get the cell phone to use this card?

    Welcome to CPF:

Try re-inserting your card, also turn your phone off and on.

I've tried that 3 times so far, but it is still unreadable.

Is there something else I should try?

I wasn't able to get Motorola's Phone Tools to recognize the v365 either (I purchased 4.5 and 5.03, but neither found my phone).

I can just barely get my PC to recognize the Motorola v365 whenever I plug it into a powered USB port, but whenever I try to access the "Removable Disk (E" I get this:

    Title: Disk is not formatted
Message: Do you want to format it now?

    After clicking Yes, I get:

    Title: Disk is not formatted
Message: The disk in drive E cannot be formatted.

    This is frusterating!

This is a long shot, but by any chance is the SD card not disk E?.

The reason I ask is because SD cards installed in a phone don't usually get a separate drive designation, they are seen as a sub folder of the phone.

I am not too familiar with MPT & Moto devices, but speaking from my experience with mobile devices in general

It is in fact Drive E. I can see it in Disk Manager as a Motorola Unreadable device. (How'd you know it was a Motorola then, Windows?)

I'm having this same problem. I bought a SanDisk 2GB SD card for my v365 but it keeps saying format failed. I tried formatting it in Windows but it just wont read the card.

Does anyone know how to get this phone to read a 2GB card?

There is more to it than this! I can plug the mini SD card into the adapter and connect it to my PC via the card reader's USB port, and Windows XP is not able to read it either.

By chance, I went to Wal-Mart and tried one after another 2 GB mini SD cards in my phone. 3 of them did not work. (Unfortunately, I did not have a card reader to check them on one of Wal-Mart's PCs)
