Hi - I have looked on this forum for my answer, and thought I would post the question while I continue to look.

I have a Motorola i700 with a legitimate Nextel account.

I would like to upgrade to a brand new i580 that I just purchased, which has a SIM card (the i700 does not).

The local dealer I got the i700 from is out of business, and his replacement only wants to sell me a new (more expensive) contract.

Is there a way I can change from my i700 to the i580 on my own, or is this even an option?

If anyone has any links that I can read, I would appreciate it.
